Dr. Jacob Cortez was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He earned his medical degree from Touro University Nevada before completing his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, California. During his residency, he developed a particular interest in bedside point-of-care ultrasound. After completing his training in 2026, he chose to remain in Southern California to continue his career in outpatient adult medicine.

Dr. Cortez values the continuity of outpatient care and enjoys building long-lasting relationships with his patients. He emphasizes patient education and encourages patients to take an active role in decisions about their healthcare. He also enjoys performing office-based procedures and, when appropriate, uses point-of-care ultrasound to help guide evaluation and treatment.

In his free time, Dr. Cortez enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and exploring all that Southern California has to offer.
